SENO K/RLT CONSERVANCY

Fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between the land, the water, and the people

SENO K/RLT CONSERVANCY IS DEDICATED TO SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY, NATURAL RESOURCES EDUCATION, CONSERVATION,
AND LAND PRESERVATION

PLEASE NOTE: From January 19th - January 23rd, our trails will be closed for hikers’ safety while the thinning of pine and spruce stands at Seno Woodland Center takes place. If you are one of the frequent hikers on our public trails through the forest stands, please understand that:

The prescribed tree harvests are based on the science of forestry and tree health.
The harvests receive oversight from professional foresters.
The tree harvest feeds a manufacturing industry that creates many of the wood-based products in use every day.
The harvests mimic natural disturbances and improve forest health, habitat, climate, and water quality.

What is a “Land Trust"?

A land trust (also called a “land conservancy”) is a nonprofit land conservation organization dedicated to preserving land for the benefit of people and nature by working with landowners to preserve land.

Seno K/RLT Conservancy is a non-profit land trust serving both Kenosha and Racine counties. We hold conservation easements as well as own and manage properties in order to protect natural spaces from development in perpetuity. We also provide environmental and natural resources education for our communities, with a focus on sustainable forestry.

Help Support Conservation in Southeast Wisconsin

Seno K/RLT Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) organization run by an all-volunteer board of directors and a small staff. We are able to continue to carry out our mission and vision thanks to the generosity of others. We welcome financial support from individual donors, grantors, or corporate sponsorship. Every contribution makes a difference, and we cannot thank our donors enough for their contributions of any amount

We also appreciate our many skilled and generous volunteers who help run our educational programs, maintain our trails and properties, and assist us in a myriad of other ways. If you are interested in volunteering with us, check out our current volunteer opportunities.
