MONARCH MAGIC! - MONARCH REARING WORKSHOP
Date: Tuesday, July 21st 5:30PM - 7:30PM
Location: Seno Woodland Center
3606 Dyer Lake Rd. Burlington, WI 53105
Cost: $25.00/Rearing Box, free if you aren’t reserving a box!
Soar on over to Seno Woodland Center to learn about North America’s most recognized and loved insect, the Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus)!
Participants will learn about the Monarch Butterfly’s life cycle, habitat, and migration. We will take you on a walk around Seno Woodland Center’s prairie to identify and learn about milkweed, a plant vital to the Monarch’s survival. During our walk we will gather eggs and all stages of a monarch caterpillar and learn how to raise these caterpillars into butterflies. Each participant/family/group will build a Monarch rearing box to take home!
Please note that registration reserves supplies to build one rearing box. If you would like to attend without building and taking home a rearing box you can still do so! Just email us at senokrltsocial@gmail.com to let us know you are coming!
Please share with us the number of people in your group via the appropriate field when registering.
GUIDED FOREST THERAPY AT SENO WOODLAND CENTER - MINI FUNDRAISER!
As the day begins, you’ll be guided by Pam Whyte of Cedar & Stone Forest Therapy through a gentle, sensory-based experience designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world. This is not a hike. There is no destination to reach, no pace to keep. The walk is slow, accessible, and welcoming to all, with plenty of time to pause, reflect, and simply be.
This special event is more than a personal wellness experience; it is also a fundraiser supporting the conservation work of Seno K/RLT Conservancy. Seno K/RLT works to protect places like Seno Woodland Center, where people can slow down and reconnect with nature.
For this special fundraiser event, registration is a sliding scale donation. Donate what you can!
Space is limited to 20 people, registration is required!
Date: Saturday, August 22nd 9:00AM - 11:00AM
